If we are cosmic dust, organized, infused and inspired—
how shall we participate in our destiny?
Shall we guide or be guided?
Is it possible to direct and therefore design our future,
owning our experiences and our selves from them?
To seek meaning in our lives makes us seekers.
The Path shows a version of what one seeker chose to become.

Note: In this section, you will find the word "ia". "ia" is a Polynesian word (pronoun) referring to an entity which possesses both feminine and masculine energies - as perhaps reflected in the pure, balanced force of nature. That is how "ia" is used in The Path - an entity possessed of a harmonic balance, to the degree that gender is particularly irrelevant, serving only to detract from the insight shared by this entity, which seeker comes to think of as simply a 'teacher' and 'friend'.

In the original version of The Path "ia" was used exclusively, in place of any gender-specific pronoun. This was an idealistic and artistic choice which made for very difficult reading - a practical fact I reluctantly but eventually recognized. What good is the written word if, by its own design, no one can read it, right?  So "ia" became relegated to only the most vital character, as you'll see here.
